Paste a suspicious message, link or account — or add a screenshot. We check it against reported scams, scan the website and give you a plain-English verdict in seconds.
Scam messages we see most often
Parcel fee SMS
“Your parcel is on hold — pay a small fee.” The link leads to a fake courier page that steals card details.
Bank account blocked
Urgent text or call saying your account is locked. The goal is your login, card number or one-time code.
Investment guru DM
Guaranteed daily profits, screenshots of payouts and pressure to deposit crypto. Withdrawals never work.
“Hi Mum” message
A ‘family member’ with a new number asks for an urgent transfer. Call the person on their old number first.
Crypto giveaway
Send 0.1 BTC and get 0.2 back, or connect your wallet to claim an airdrop. Nobody doubles your crypto.
Fake shop ad
Brand goods at 80% off on a store that is only weeks old. Payment goes through, the order never ships.
The golden rule: a real bank, courier or platform never asks you to pay a fee, share a one-time code or move to a private chat through a link in an unexpected message. Open the official app or type the address yourself instead.
Frequently asked questions
How does the AI scam checker work?
It pulls out the links, domains, @handles and wallet addresses from your message, looks them up in the FraudScan database of moderated reports, scans unknown websites (domain age, hosting, page content) and asks an AI model to weigh the evidence.
Is my message stored?
No. The text and screenshot you paste are analysed in memory and not saved. Only the automated scan of a public website may be cached for 24 hours.
Can the AI be wrong?
Yes. Treat the answer as a second opinion. Verify through the official website or app of the company, and never pay or share one-time codes because of an unexpected message.
What should I do if the checker says it is a scam?
Do not click the link, reply or pay. Block the sender, and report the website, account or wallet on FraudScan so others are warned. If you already paid or shared card details, contact your bank immediately.
Is the scam checker free?
Yes. The AI scam checker and the FraudScan database are free to use, and there is no account or sign-up.
